Material Handler

Essential Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for the safe and efficient Operation of material handling equipment.
  • Verifies count of finished components against the order quantity outlined on the Component List and BOM.
  • Documents the count electronically on the Component List as the components are being received.
  • Collates and labels the skids to include the following information; customer name, job number, component descriptions, quantity of component, storage date and approved sample.
  • Notifies Lead if the received quantity documented on the component label is less than the planned component label quantity.
  • Collate material and prepare pallets for next process.
  • Delivers / Inventories components to the next operation / Line as required within the Department
  • Keeps detailed records of inventory quantity and location of goods awaiting requests to next operation for processing of return to stock.
  • Accountable to follow all policies and procedures defined in the company quality system.
  • Responsible for following the materials storage procedures on all product (WIP, Raw, Scrap,  Finished Goods, return to stock,  etc)
  • Works with Department to develop improvement ideas that support business objectives
  • Ensures that all business operational transactions are being completed accurately and on time.
  • Initiates action with Department to eliminate issues preventing a quality, productive and on time delivery of a production job.
  • Supports continuous improvement initiatives involving delivery performance, product quality and employee safety.
  • Responsible for providing feedback during root cause analysis processes and assist with providing corrective actions as it relates to KPI’s.
  • Daily routine housekeeping of the area (e.g./housekeeping, empty all garbage pails, all cardboard is put into the proper bin, ensure material storage area is neat, clean and safe to work).
  • Conduct all work duties as per the Occupational Health & Safety Act & Regulations, the health, safety & environmental policies, procedures, and policies of Array Canada as outlined in your employee handbook.
  • Responsible for Section Manager, of aged inventory in a timely manner.

Skills Required:

  • Minimum high school diploma and one year certificate from college or technical school; 1 year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Knowledge of MS Outlook Contact Management systems; Basic to intermediate MS Excel Spreadsheet software and MS Word Processing software.
  • Ability to learn Industrios Inventory software; DataWeb Manufacturing software;

Working Environment:

  • Noisy, Warm, and Dusty environment
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
  • Standing for long periods of time
  • Repetitive tasks
