Production Technologist

Essential Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Plan, schedule & complete the Model shop CNC day shift & night shift schedule as per the model makers schedule, client reviews, sign off priorities & DW ship dates priorities of the jobs.
  • Update the Model shop Planner, PMs, Section manager & Master production schedule on daily basis as per the New jobs received, revisions & latest status of the model shop ongoing jobs
  • Set the CNC priorities as per the scheduled times during the day & maintain the rush job priorities as per the direction of Model shop Planner & Section Manager
  • Take the sheet stock count on daily basis, check all the new & revised job packages for the order of the molded parts & place the order accordingly in IOS
  • Take the updates of all the model shop ongoing jobs as per the Model maker jobs schedule by discussion with individual model makers at their work stations / MM status board twice on daily basis & make sure that all the client shipments are completed & packed on time for shipping
  • Coordinate & help the sign off team members in completing the set ups & staging all the Master samples to complete the Sign off jobs target for the day
  • Manage the communication loop between the model shop and engineering departments for revisions by submitting the Revision tickets, follow up & resolve the same regularly
  • Provide quality control feedback to developers / detailers via email & Revision tickets
  • Create & maintain the Model shop Dashboard on daily basis and create reports or proposals as required, our goal is to make this Dashboard Live (shared file) within six weeks with all other departments
  • Works with Model shop Planner, Section Manager and Operations Manager to develop improvement ideas that support business objectives 
  • Accountable to follow all Safety policies and procedures as defined in the company quality system. 
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Skills Required:

  • Detail oriented.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, solid works, metal drawers, gondolas & fixture assemblies an asset.
  • Team oriented, excellent communication skills (oral & written).
  • A good understanding of manufacturing processes related to open sell, countertop, sheet metal & fixtures an asset.
  • Strong problem solving & decision making skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
