Inventory Accountant

We are seeking a driven Inventory Accountant to join our team focused on assisting in all aspects of the company's inventory financial impact. You will bring your experience and attention to detail to Summit to help build a strong foundation for future growth and scale. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • You will be required to manage inventory distribution and reconciliation to GL and sub-ledger, review valuation and manage obsolete inventory reserve computation
  • Review and manage the inventory in-transit processing, month-end reporting and analysis of sub-contract material costs
  • Review the rejected inventory and follow-up with AP on outstanding credit memos
  • Review the location/bin maintenance
  • On a weekly basis you will be managing cycle counts (scheduling, recording, analyzing, and reporting)
  • Monitoring of inventory location / bin reconciliation
  • Analyzing oversold inventory
  • Creating process plans for internally produced KANBAN inventory
  • Verifying 3PL warehouse reconciliations
  • Validating and posting of inventory transactions
  • Responding to requests and performing root cause analysis of issues
  • Assisting warehouse staff with inventory related matters and educating on proper transacting

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • College diploma in Business is required or relevant experience
  • 3-5 yrs working in a manufacturing environment in a similar role is required
  • Attention and commitment to detail
  • Desire to work hard, continuously learn, and self-improve
  • Excellent technical, analytical and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in the use of various accounting systems preferably Sage, Microsoft Excel, and other accounting software.
