Material Handler - Group 1

Essential Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Follow Job readiness board/schedule and stage material accordingly.
  • Inventories, counts and matches codes of finished goods on Vacform machines, delivers to internal customers.
  • Labels parts for inventory and follows return to stock process.
  • Ensure effective and efficient space optimization practices are followed.
  • Remove excess materials as necessary.
  • Supports Tooling coordinator in tool purging activities.
  • Segregates off-cut waste, and recycles the material through use of bailor.
  • Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device
  • Inventories materials on work floor, and supplies Vacform operators with materials as needed.
  • Compares actual deliveries with requisitions
  • Loads or unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting device
  • Lubricates lift and recharges batteries
  • Inspects lift before shift begins
  • Maintains own and departmental housekeeping standards according to 5S
  • Performs all of the above responsibilities in accordance with Company Safety, Quality, and Production Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Accountable to follow all policies and procedures defined in the company quality system.
  • Supports continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Reports any Health and Safety issues to the department manager immediately.
  • Conducts all work duties as per the Occupational Health & Safety Act & Regulations, the health, safety & environmental policies, procedures, and policies of Array Canada.
  • Performs any other reasonable assignments given by your Department Management or his/her designates.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Skills Required:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. 
  • Must be certified to operate the following material handling equipment: Counterbalance truck, Reach truck, Walkie or Pallet truck.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Suite.
  • Knowledge of ERP an asset.
  • General knowledge of materials
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to work extended hours
  • Flexibility to work different shifts based on operational needs.
